Diego Salterini

Dancer/ Teacher/ Choreographer/ Co-Director of Dance Now! Miami

Diego Salterini relocated to Miami from Rome, Italy where he was a Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern Dance teacher at several private schools and studios. He has been featured as a lead dancer on Italian television many times since 1991, on RAI National TV and Canale 5 (MEDIASET private channel). Mr. Salterini has danced in and choreographed many theatrical productions including Musical Show No. 1 at the Todi Festival. Presently, Mr. Salterini is a teacher of dance at Florida International University and In Motion Dance Studio and performs with Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, Zanadu Dancers, Dance Now!, Momentum Dance Company, and on Channel 23 Univision.


Lucian Williams

Performer/ Composer/ Guitar/ Teacher

Lucian Williams graduated Pulaski High School; New Britain, CT. in 1969 and attended Berklee College of Music, Boston MA. He studied jazz guitar with George Benson, Chuck Wayne, Mark Elf, Victor Juris (N.Y.C) and Mick Goodrick (Boston). He also received voice lessons from Jackeline Jarret and David Baker (Hartford Conservatory), Jane Ellison (Loyola University in Montreal), Carmine Gagliardi (N.Y.C.), and Gina Moretta (Miami). Mr. Williams has been a full time musician, arranger, orchestra leader, vocalist, instrumentalist (guitar, piano, electric bass) since 1973. He resided and performed in New York City from 1982 to 1988, where he established the jump swing band, Lew Willie & the Snapdragons, and played at such venues as the Ritz and the Lone Star Cafe. In 1988 relocated to South Florida. Here, Lew Willie & Snapdragons has performed in many varied and eclectic styles. From 1992 to 1995 he was a guitarist for the Miami Heat Band, a trio that played all the Miami Heat basketball games at the Miami Arena. In 2003, Mr. Williams was a musical arranger for Norwegian Cruise Lines. He was also the Musical Director of Neighborhood Arts Program (funded by CETA and the National Endowment for the Arts) in New Britain, CT. From 1975-1977 he worked with underserved high school students. He has directed orchestras and several ensembles. Mr. Williams also served as a faculty member of Hartford (CT) Conservatory and the Loomis Chaffee School from 1979-1981, where he taught private guitar lessons. Lucian Williams can compose, arrange, and orchestrate for ensembles of any size as well as teach all levels of rock, jazz, classical, or folk guitar. He also teaches piano, electric bass, and voice.


Pioneer Winter

Dancer/ Choreographer

Pioneer Winter was born in South Miami, FL and graduated from the STAR Academy dance magnet at Dr. Michael M. Krop Sr. High (2006). In 2007, Mr. Winter choreographed an adaptation of the musical Godspell, which was performed at the International Fringe Arts Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has also choreographed several pieces for the STAR Academy that have been performed throughout Miami-Dade County. Currently, he is a member of Dance Now! Miami, a Miami based contemporary dance company. With Florida Dance Masters accreditation, Mr. Winter has also trained extensively in ballet with Michael Langlois and Brigid Baker, along with training at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Most recently, he has performed in Luis A. Cuevas' contemporary ballet Babble that was presented in the Florida Dance Festival's Winterfest Florida Dances at New World School of the Arts, along with being a guest artist in Rosie Herrera's Here & Now 2009 project entitled Various Stages of Drowning: A Cabaret, which was presented at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and has since been restaged at the 2009 American Dance Festival. Mr. Winter has been working with Jubilee Dance Theatre, Inc. since 2005 and has performed twice on tour in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain in a Cotton Club Revue, and in Mexico City. In 2008, his piece Miz Zéri was set on JDT and has been referenced in Florida's FlaVour Magazine, State Magazine, The Miami Herald, and the September 2008 Dance Teacher Magazine.


Jose Hurtado Zamudio

Composer/ Ethnomusicologist/ Dancer

Jose Hurtado Zamudio is an ethnomusicologist, composer, choir director, researcher, philosopher and dancer. Mr. Hurtado studied at the Santo Domingo Convent in Cuzco, Peru under the direction of the renowned composer Benigno Ballon Farfan. He continued his studies at the Pontifical Catholic University in Lima. After traveling throughout Peru, he returned to his hometown of Jauja at the age of 22 to focus on researching Andean music and culture. He taught at the Conservatory of Music of Acolla, the Ecole Normale Superieure de Palean, the University of Huacho and the Universidad Del Centro among others. Mr. Hurtado is also a former Executive Director of the National Institute of Culture of Jauja.


Joe Zeytoonian

Musician/ Composer/ Music Teacher/ Co-Artistic Director of Harmonic Motion

Joe Zeytoonian plays the ud, electric ud, cümbüs, and saz (Middle Eastern fretless stringed instruments), darbuka (hourglass shaped hand drum), riqq (classical tambourine), frame drums, voice. Mr. Zeytoonian has performed in Florida concerts with Bailes Ferrer, Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, Rosita Segovia Baile Español, Mary Street Dance Theater, Florida Dance Festival, Mideastern Dance Exchange, and Harmonic Motion (Music Director). In New York, Mr. Zeytoonian has performed at the Riverside Theater, TOMI Theater and Town Hall. He also performed in Greece at Festival of Greek Music from the Diaspora in Thessalonika and in Los Angeles at the Festival of Sacred Music.

Mr. Zeytoonian has performed with numerous musicians, including Abbey Rader, Dave Liebman, Kenny Millions, Satoshi Takeishi, Tommy Lee (FL), Richard Brookens, Arto Tunçboyaciyan, O. Faruk Tekbilek, Gary Kelly, Bobby Thomas Jr., Myriam Eli, Taksim Band from New York City, and popular Middle Eastern and Armenian ensembles in Boston The awards he has won include: 04-06 Florida State Touring Program, Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs; 2000 Florida Folk Heritage Award, Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources; 3 Individual Artist Fellowships ('89-'90, '95-'96, ‘02-‘03), 3 Honorable Mentions ('94-'95, '00-'01, '01-'02), Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs; New Forms Florida grant, National Endowment for the Arts ('94); 2 Artistic Achievement Awards ('95, 02), Broward Cultural Affairs Council; Broward Cultural Affairs Council and a Florida Department of State mini-grant for Harmonic Motion.

Joe Zeytoonian has toured the U.S.A., Greece, Costa Rica, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Turkey, and Japan. Some of his recordings have sold nationally at Borders Books and Music and featured been on Amazon.com and include Friendship, Gypsy Fever, Casting Nine, Ararat Maiden, Southern Arrival, Rom-Anadolu Session, Danse Orientale Project, Full Circle, Café Makam, Whispers of Ellis Island, Ruby Mantra, Line Out, and for Sony Music/Estefan Enterprises, Gloria Estefan's Destiny and Shakira's Ojos Así (Dónde Están Los Ladrones) and Eyes Like These (Laundry Service).

Mr. Zeytoonian teaches ud and scale theory privately in Florida at the Fieldston School of Performing Arts, New York, Near East Music and Dance Camps, Mendocino (CA), Honolulu (HI), Chicago (IL), and Cape Cod (MA), Turkey, Japan.

He teaches Darbuka regularly in Florida, Turkey, Japan, as well as recording with Sony Music, Estefan Enterprises, Gloria Estefan and Shakira. He recorded on ud and saz with Gloria Estefan for her CD Destiny on the title cut – 1996, recorded on ud with Shakira for her CD Dónde están los ladrones on the multiple-award winning song "Ojos Así" - 1998.

His other accomplishments include: recording sessions with Jon Secada and Ana Gabriel – 2000, perfroming on electric ud with Shakira at the Sony Music Entertainment Marketing Meeting at the Fontainebleau Hilton, Miami Beach – 1998 and recording on ud and percussion with Gloria Estefan for the radio version of the song You Can't Walk Away. The movie version appeared in the film Original Sin with Antonio Banderas and Angelique Jolie - 2000. Mr. Zeytoonian also recorded on ud with Shakira for her crossover CD Laundry Service / Servicio de Lavandería on the cut Eyes Like Yours / Ojos Así- 2001, recorded for Estefan Enterprises for Middle Eastern influenced pieces Rapture and Illusions – 2001 and performed with Shakira on Saturday Night Live - 2001.
